So as part of the Social Thinking blogging team, I get to provide you reviews of their materials. Since I've been using them so much this year it's the perfect match! Today I'm reviewing 3 more books in the Superflex Series.
Social Town Citizens Discover 82 New Unthinkables for Superflex to Outsmart!
The book introduces 82 new Unthinkables. This has really been an 'encyclopedia' for my students. Most often the need to label an Unithinkable arises in a 'real life' situation. We've been using the 82 New Unthinkables to locate the applicable Unthinkable. If we don't find one that fits we can make our own.
There are also 14 new Thinkables submitted by Social Town citizens of all ages. These are Superflex's buddies who encourage flexible thinking!
The book retails for $32 on the Social Thinking website or is available on Amzon (affiliate links provided.)
Superflex takes on Glassman and the Team of Unthinkables and Superflex takes on Brain Eater and the Team of Unthinkables
Superflex takes on Glassman is a great teaching comic book. It features Aiden heading back to school. Aiden has to explain to his teachers and principal that he is Superflex. Superflex is now very busy at school looking out for Glassman, who makes people have huge upset reactions.
Superflex takes on Brain Eater, focuses on distractors. Superflex teaches the students strategies for defeating Brain Eater including using fidgets, keeping your body in the group, inside the brain and outside the brain distractors, using a distractor shield, and using a checklist.
I LOVE these books. If you're already used to the comic book format, you know students love it! These two comic books are way more full of instruction than the original Superflex comic book.
I hope these review help you decide what best fits the needs of your students!
